Joelle practices litigation where she focuses on civil and intellectual property disputes. Joelle is experienced with information and evidentiary management systems.

Prior to moving to North Carolina, Joelle was an associate attorney in the Grand Rapids, Michigan office of Trott & Trott, P.C. a boutique firm specializing in real estate finance law, including default servicing, bankruptcy, eviction and litigation.  Joelle’s main practice focus was bankruptcy and litigation involving secured and unsecured creditors.

Before joining Trott & Trott, Joelle served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable George Corsiglia, Chief Judge of the 48th Judicial Circuit Court, Allegan County, Michigan.  When first relocating to Michigan, Joelle was a legal editor for LexisNexis legal research services and a staff attorney for Berrien County Legal Services.

Joelle started her law career in her home state of Tennessee as a paralegal at Federal Defender Services of East Tennessee supporting the complex litigation of the Capital Habeas Corpus unit and providing technical assistance for Assistant Public Defenders on cases dealing with cybercrime.  During this time, Joelle was pursuing a graduate degree in Information Science.

While a student at the University of Tennessee College of Law, Joelle was a Staff Editor for the Tennessee Law ReviewJoelle also collaborated with Professor Robert M. Lloyd on a Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction (CALI) program to teach law students the Uniform Commercial Code.
